A large number of Durga Puja pandals are organised in Delhi every year as it is home to many Bengalis. The pandals come up with innovative themes every year and its a time when the whole city is in celebration mood.
Durgotsab GK II: This is particularly famous for its Bhog prasad and attracts a huge crowd every year. Last year the bhog prasad was made with organic ingredients and the pandal was dedicated to Rabindranath Tagore to commemorate his 150th birth anniversary. A collection of his work including his paintings were put on display. Its located in Uday Shankar Park adjacent to the Gurudwara in GK 2.
Kashmiri Gate Pandal: This is the oldest pandal in the city which is more than a 100 years old and it is famous for celebrating the puja in a traditional manner. Also known for its food stalls it is a must visit for any foodie. It is located in Alipore Road opposite Indraprastha College for Women in Kashmere Gate.
Durga Puja Pandal in CR Park: This is one of the more popular pandals which attract large crowds. Last year , they celebrated Rabindra Nath Tagore’s work Gitanjali by making a replica of Kuthi Badi which was Tagore’s native town. Located in Co operative Ground in Chittaranjan Park.
Milani Puja Committee: Its known for its innovative themes and last year it had the theme of Commonwealth Games wherein the pandal was made in the shape of Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and the entrance resembled a king’s crown. Its located in DDA Park near Supreme Enclave Apartments in Mayur Vihar.
Safdarjung Enclave: Its famous for its themes and attracts a large crowd due to this. In the previous years they had pandals reflecting Egyptian history and Ancient Bengali tradition. Its located in Safdarjung Enclave.
